Hello! Brief intro: My name’s Nick. I am currently participating in the World Food Prize Foundation’s Borlaug-Ruan International Internship program. I am interning at the S.M. Sehgal Foundation (sometimes known for their work as the Institute of Rural Research and Development) in Gurugram (Gurgaon), India for a couple of months. My project, titled “Comparative Study of Micro Irrigation: Present Scenario, Adoption, and Future in Mewat”, is a work in progress. Follow along as I dive into not only the project, but also my personal and cultural experience here. Check out the following links for more info on  both foundations:

Thanks for visiting my website! Read a general blog introduction below.

For y’all that don’t know, my name is Nick Battles (hopefully self-explanatory by the site title). Despite my use of slang such as “y’all”, I am not from the south nor do I possess a southern accent (naturally, that is). I will, on occasion, use that lingo to spice things up, however.

Furthermore, this blog is all about me. I realize that may sound narcissistic. You are exactly right if that was your assumption. Anyone that chooses their domain to be their name has a decent amount of egocentric demeanor. With that said, I like to think I am much less self-centered in person than I am in my powerful little world here on NICKBATTLES.com. Anyway, I would like to welcome you to my website/blog. I’d love for you to follow along and see what I’m all about. Whether that’s embarrassing for me or not is up for you to decide.
